The STEAM Week was a five-day holiday program delivered during the sports break in Gothenburg, offering two-hour sessions each day. The program is built around STEAM disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics (Arts & Design), and Mathematics.
Children participated five various activities during the week. Each day was dedicated to one STEAM activity. Monday for Science, where children saw the reaction formed by acid and alkaline mixing. Tuesday for Technology and using binary code to make bracelets. Wednesday for Engineering, where children made simple catapults. Thursday for Arts and experimenting with colors and seeing how ink separates in water, and Friday for Mathematics, testing paper helicopters and measuring speed.
The aim was to provide children (aged 7–12) with meaningful opportunities to explore science and technology through learning by doing. Activities were hands-on, inquiry-based, and designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in a relaxed, non-school environment.
