Barnens Smarta Karta — the Children’s Smart Map — is a three-year collaboration between KES and Kotte, funded by Allmänna Arvsfonden.
Together with children, we are shaping a map of Gothenburg that highlights the places they love — hidden gems, everyday spots, and meaningful spaces they want to share with other children. Every place included is explored with care, ensuring it is welcoming, accessible, and connected to circular and sustainable ways of using our city.
The project is driven BY children, FOR children in the community. Children aged 3–13 guide the process through workshops and activities hosted together with schools, preschools, cultural centers, and community organizations throughout Gothenburg.
Our partners help us reach young participants and support the co-creative work — making sure children's ideas, needs, and priorities are in focus at every step of the journey.
The digital map will be launched in 2028.
